SSC-Junior Translator


Junior Translator Examination is held once in a year, generally in the month of March. The blank application forms are published in the Employment News generally in the month of November of the previous year. Generally, the last date for submission of application form is 2nd week of December of the year.

Age Limits 

Should Not exceeding 28 years on the 1st August of the year of examination. 

Educational Qualification 

Master's degree in English/Hindi with Hindi/English as compulsory and elective subjects at Bachelor's Degree with Hindi and English as the main subject ( which includes the term compulsory and elective). 

Scheme of Examination 

The papers is to be set in the written exam, the maximum marks allotted to each exam paper and the duration of each paper will be as under: 

1) Objective Type: 200 Marks - 2 Hours 

(a) General Hindi- 100 Questions 
(b) General English- 100 Questions 

2) Conventional Type: 200 Marks - 2 Hours 

Translation - 4 passages two each from Hindi to English and vice-versa 


Paper I (MCQ/Objective Types) 

The questions paper will be designed to test the candidate's understanding of the English/Hindi language, Finding errors and correct use of words, phrases and idioms, ability to write language correctly, precisely and efficiently. 

Paper II (Conventional Type) 

The paper will contain four passages- 

1) Translation of two comprehension passages from Hindi to English 
2) Translation of two passages from English to Hindi vice-versa, 

It will help to examine the candidate language translation skills and their ability to write the two languages correctly, precisely and efficiently.
